Race Summary
The Chinese Grand Prix sees George Russell on pole but with a decent reaction on start, Piastri takes the lead of the race by the first corner. Norris jumps up to 2nd from 3rd position. Russell keeps on Norris’s tail. Max Verstappen loses out on the jump to the Ferrari’s of Leclerc and Hamilton.
Turn 7 and 8 are coupled with hard racing between the top 4 as Russell tries to gain back positions on Norris. Charles Leclerc following the top leaders closely, but Bortoleto loses traction on the opening lap of the race. Fernando Alonso heads to the pits on the fourth lap as a brake fire is reported by Gasly.
Russell pits on lap 15 as Norries tries to get ahead before Russell exits the pits and Ocon passes Antonelli on the inside to take 14th position.
Piastri takes the victory for his third race win in his career, Norris follows up in 2nd for a McLaren 1-2, with George Russell finishing the podium. Verstappen splits the two Ferraris as Leclerc finishes in 4th and Hamilton in fifth.
